Most books about breastfeeding are more like guide books: very detailed and give lots of information about and reasons for breastfeeding. This book is different.Full of funny pictures, parody songs and jokes it's a great light hearted read for anyone interested in breastfeeding. It's particularly useful for anyone involved in breastfeeding support in any way because the songs / rhymes are easy to remember but often have an important point (my favourite is "deliver yourself - at home": set to the tune of "consider yourself") and are great for use in a support group or when trying to get a message across but without sounding like a miserable bugger!I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning about breastfeeding though and it comes as a bit of light hearted relief after the other huge tomes you might have waded your way through!!

I could not stop giggling at Alison's words and the cartoons are great classics. This book would help any mum, friend, peer supporter, breastfeeding counsellor and lactation consultant to get over the true picture of breastfeeding as an art.The songs to well known tunes, to deal with every breastfeeding situation, are funny and very memorable and could be sung to babies as a lullaby - they will not care about the words - or at any celebration of breastfeeding. The anecdotes are very useful to pass on to other mothers in counselling situations. The references are useful and it will be kept up to date by its web links.A great investment and the perfect present for anyone involved with breastfeeding. That is everyone now, as breastfeeding rises in profile with Dept of Health encouragement that all babies should be given the best possible start in life.

The book is a highly entertaining combination of poems, songs, jokes and breastfeeding facts which convey useful information about breastfeeding in a fun filled way. As a trainer of Maternity Nurses, I have read plenty of books on breastfeeding- but never one quite like this! What makes this book even more special is that proceeds from the sale go to Baby Milk Action, the non-profit organisation which works tirelessly to protect breastfeeding and end the inappropriate marketing of breast milk substitutes. This book really did make us laugh out loud and we think anyone who has breastfed or helped others to breastfed will recognise familiar situations! It is a great read for all maternity nurses, nannies and mothers.

I love this book. I laughed all the way through it. I wanted to give a copy of it to everyone I ever knew who breastfed a child. It is funny; most people would recognise the tunes to the lyrics and would be able to sing them easily (if they weren't also laughing fit to bust). Women will recognise themelves and their own experiences in the songs, both the hilarious and the deeply loving nurture than breastfeeding can express. The words are informative and memorable - two of the best aspects of good songs and women will find themselves singing and laughing to themselves and their babies as their experiences trigger the right song to spring back onto their lips.Buy it, it's great.

As the cover says a comic treasure chest that should not be missed. This book does not give the new mother 101 rules to follow to establish breastfeeding. It does however celebrate breastfeeding and mothering. The book also contains lots of humorous facts about breastfeeding. As a tone deaf non-singer I would have liked the option of buying the book with a CD of all the amusing songs in the book. Credit must be given to Alison who has produced a very funny book which raises money for Baby Milk Action but it is a sad fact that their work is essential to challenge the damage being done by the irresponsible marketing of breastmilk substitutes.

Fit to bust is a wonderful book to either read through or dip into . It is funny, instructive, up to date and accurate in the information it contains. Everyone will learn something from it, mothers, breastfeeding helpers, midwives, grandparents, health visitors, fathers, doctors, and everyone else. For breastfeeding helpers both professional or lay, it is a great teaching aid, mothers love the songs and cartoons

I love this book. It is a collection of songs, poems, cartoons and humour about breastfeeding support- and full of evidenced based facts too. I especially like the 5 days of feeding song, which in use in my antenatal classes. A must have for breastfeeding supporters and counsellors, lactation consultants, antenatal teachers and doulas.

A very funny book with a very deserving cause. This book would suit anyone who has ever breastfed, any breastfeeding supporter, midwife and health visitor.Humour and facts are displayed alongside each other, which makes it very easy to read and a memorable read.Raising awareness of the work of Baby Milk Action is always a good thing too.
